Located on the pristine waters of Elkhart Lake, the AAA Four Diamond Osthoff Resort currently has the following full-time and part-time employment opportunities available.

Children's Activities Representative

As an Activities Representative, you will work with children in the Osthoff Kids Club program, which offers kids a chance to enjoy the surroundings and traditions of a Wisconsin Resort. Responsibilities include leading children in arts and crafts projects, tye-dying t-shirts, decorating cupcakes, facilitating pajama parities and taking them fishing on the pond or dock along Elkhart Lake.

Qualified candidates must have experience working with children, have the ability to work independently, be reliable, and have a flexible schedule including availability on both weekdays and Saturdays. Daily classes will run Monday-Saturday, 8:30am-4:30pm. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays also have night time activities from 6-8pm. See last year's daily agenda, for an example.

Activities Representatives will be given the opportunity to work as Bonfire Stewards as well.

 

Bonfire Steward

As a Bonfire Steward, you will be responsible to start, supervise, and extinguish bonfires and set out and replenish s’more supplies for all resort guests and families attending. This is a complimentary amentity to all resort guests and their families, which is offered every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evening, between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Bonfires are also offered to groups for team-building, which may run in addition to those individual days and through October.

Qualified candidates must have previous experience lighting, and fully extinguishing fires, have fire safety knowledge, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, have the ability to work independently, and have a flexible schedule working weekday and weekend evenings, between the hours of 6:30 pm till 11 pm.

 

Licensed Nail Technician

Banquet Server

As a Banquet Server, you will deliver a high level of banquet service according to standards of management and AAA Four Diamond standards. Banquet Servers will execute a high caliber of service to clients before, during, and after banquet functions, including preparing and set up of functions, service and bussing of functions, and proper cleaning, sanitation, and return of all equipment after functions are completed. Qualified candidates must have customer service experience and the ability to demonstrate initiative and maintain a professional demeanor.  Banquet service and/or serving experience is recommended.

Banquet Setup Associate - Part Time

This position is responsible for accurate setup and teardown of all meeting and catered functions at The Osthoff Resort, ensuring that all required items are in place prior to each function.  The Setup Associate must be capable of lifting, transporting, and storing all furniture and equipment necessary for the setting up and tearing down of functions. These items include, but are not limited to, tables, chairs, podiums, dance floors, equipment, etc... In addition, the Setup Associate is responsible for the cleaning and preparation of meeting rooms and pre-function areas.

Restaurant Server - Part Time

The Restaurant Server is responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction and providing our guests with an exceptional dining experience.  Qualified applicants will have previous experience working in a fine dining atmosphere, have excellent communication skills, and be able to demonstrate above average guest service etiquette.  This is a part-time position working primarily evening and weekend hours.  Ideal candidates must be at least 18 years of age, and have year-round day, night, and weekend availability.

 

Line Cook - Part Time

Our Line Cooks are responsible for setting up cooking lines, stocking and organizing workstations, preparing food items based on recipes, portion controls, and standard presentations; restocking food items as needed throughout the shifts, and maintaining a smooth flow of service during high-volume service hours. Qualified candidates must have two years of prior line experience working in a fine dining establishment.

A culinary degree and ServSafe certification are preferred, but not required. Strong communication and organizational skills are also strongly desired. Successful candidates should have experience setting up cooking lines, stocking, and organizing workstations, as well as a flexible schedule with daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday availability.

 

Host/Hostess

The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting customers in a friendly manner and escorting guests to tables as well as monitoring guest needs.  Qualified candidates must have a flexible schedule including the ability to work evenings and weekends, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to multi-task.

 

Busser

The Busser is responsible for maintaining the dining area; clearing and resetting tables and taking dishes to the kitchen area. The restaurant Busser stocks bus stations, cleans glassware, and refills drinks. This person must have good communication skills as well as the ability to stand and walk for a period of up to 8 hours, as well as the ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.

 

Bartender - Part Time

Our Bartenders are responsible for providing excellent beverage service to our guests while fostering a relaxing atmosphere.  Qualified candidates for this position should have prior bartending experience and excellent knowledge of wines and wine service, beer and mixed drinks.  Applicants should also have exceptional customer-service skills and an outgoing personality.  This is a part-time position which offers a flexible evening and weekend schedule.  Applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to obtain a license to serve alcohol.

Front Desk Associate

The Front Desk Associate is responsible for providing AAA Four-Diamond guest service. Responsibilities include checking guests in and out, making resort reservations, cash handling, and answering phones. The ideal candidate should have a high degree of professionalism, strong customer service skills as well as a flexible schedule with daytime, evening, and weekend availability. Previous Front Desk Service experience is ideal, but not required. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, and sit for a period of up to eight hours in addition to occasional reaching, climbing, squatting, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

 

Bell Attendant Staff

Our Bell Attendant’s work together with the Front Desk to ensure our guests receive hospitable, AAA Four Diamond service upon arrival, at check out, and throughout their entire stay.  Eligible candidates should possess excellent customer service skills, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and have a valid driver’s license. This is a year-round position with our resort which includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

 

Pool/Beach Concierge 

The Pool/Beach Concierge is responsible for overseeing the indoor and outdoor pool and beachfront area. Duties include, but are not limited to, restocking towels, attending to guests and their needs, and providing light maintenance throughout the indoor and outdoor pool area. It is his/her responsibility to monitor the beach, making sure it is only used by guests of The Osthoff Resort, and ensuring all areas are well-kept. Must have the ability to stand and walk for a period of up to 8 hours, as well as the ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds. This is a seasonal position, working between the months of May-September. Eligible candidates should possess excellent customer service skills, be able to work outdoors, lift up to 50 pounds, be at least 14 years old and have a flexible schedule with day, evening and weekend availability.

 

Gift Shoppe Associate - Part Time

The ideal Retail Associate will be a friendly, customer service-oriented salesperson to assist guests, guest sales, and maintain a clean, well-stocked store for day, evening, and/or weekend shifts. This is a year-round position.

 

Night Audit Associate

This position reports directly to the Front Office Manager, and is responsible for providing AAA Four-Diamond guest service. Responsibilities include checking guests in and out, making hotel reservations, cash handling, answering phones, and processing nightly paperwork. The Night Audit Associate position requires an individual in possession of a high degree of professionalism as well as strong customer service skills.

The ideal candidate should have a flexible schedule with evening and early morning availability. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, and sit for a period of up to eight hours in addition to occasional reaching, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and bending. Lifting requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Previous hotel and customer service experience preferred.

 

Security Associate

The Security Associate will report directly to the Front Office Manager, and be responsible for providing AAA Four-Diamond guest service. Responsibilities include assisting the Night Auditor with guests check-in’s and outs, assisting with hotel reservations, cash handling, answering phones, and ensuring the safety of the Resort.

This position requires the ability to stand, walk, and sit for a period of up to eight hours in addition to occasional reaching, climbing, squatting, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The ideal candidate should have a high degree of professionalism, previous hotel experience and strong customer service skills, as well as a flexible schedule with night, early morning, and weekday availability.

 

Reservation Associate

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, and exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities include assisting current and prospective guests in the reservation-making process – including being knowledgeable in all areas of the resort and recreation available in the surrounding area. Occasionally, this position will assist the Reservation Manager with group contracts, coordinating group room reservations with group contacts, and working with the Front Office department to assist in reservations and occasional front desk duties. Qualified candidates must be proficient with the computer, detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and should be knowledgeable of the local area.

Our Reservations Associate will answer guest’s questions and describe the rooms, amenities, and rates while assisting the guest in booking their resort reservation. The successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships both with internal and external customers, assist in managing all reservation sales activities to maximize revenue potential for the resort and implement and maintain quality standards for the Reservations Department.

Housekeeping Supervisor - Full Time

We are seeking a friendly, efficient, detail-oriented, and guest focused individual to join our team as a Housekeeping Supervisor. The Housekeeping Supervisor will train and monitor all Room Attendants, assist with morning preparations and end of day duties, inspect clean rooms, monitor the operations of designated areas, answer radio calls, clean and deep clean rooms as needed.

An ideal candidate will uphold our AAA Four Diamond Housekeeping standards, which include delivering a high level of cleanliness within guest rooms in accordance with the expectations of management and have weekend availability. Our 1st Shift Laundry Attendants are responsible for sorting laundry, loading and emptying washing machines and dryers, folding, ironing, and cleaning the work environment as needed.

Candidates should be available to work a flexible schedule including mornings, afternoons, and weekends. Closet Stocker

The Closet Stocker is responsible for transporting and stocking clean linens from our Laundry department to our housekeeping closets. You will help with simple tasks in our laundry department, and assist with folding, sorting and ironing linens. This position requires the associate to be on his or her feet for up to 8 hours, involves bending and lifting up to 50 pounds, ascending and descending stairs, and kneeling. This is a part-time position, and the ideal candidate should be able to multi-task and work with others, as well as independently, within a fast-paced environment. Night Runner

The Osthoff Resort's Housekeeping standards, which include delivering a high level of cleanliness within guest rooms in accordance to the expectations of management and AAA Four Diamond Standards, are essential functions of this position. The Night Runner position is responsible for cleaning of public areas in the Resort, providing housekeeping assistance to guest suites as requested, and stocking, maintaining, and preparing the housekeeping department for the following day.

The ideal candidate should be able to multi-task, and work with others as well as independently within a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be available to work a schedule including nights and weekends between the hours of 4pm and Midnight. Starting and ending times may vary slightly based on the needs of the business. Room Attendant

The Room Attendant position is responsible refreshing rooms with occupied guests as well as preparing rooms for arriving guests.  This position requires the associate to be on his or her feet for 4- 7 hours each day, and involves bending and lifting up to 30 pounds, ascending and descending stairs, and kneeling. The ideal candidate should be able to multi-task and work with others, as well as independently, within a fast-paced environment. Human Resources Manager

  • Process and manage biweekly payroll
  • Develop and post job ads in newspapers, on career pages and other outreach websites
  • Support the recruitment/hiring process by tracking, reviewing, and sourcing candidates
  • Participate in resort recruitment by attending local job fairs, managing relationships with area high schools and colleges, community organizations and employment agencies

Qualified candidates must have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, both verbal and written, have a well-rounded background in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and have a positive, outgoing personality. Past experience with Payroll, HRIS platforms and recruitment are preferred.

Server - Bar and/or Concessions

The lake deck bar/concession servers' responsibilities are to serve all needs of lake deck guests.  Candidates must have general knowledge of the menu and basic customer service skills.  Ideal server candidates will be at least 18 years of age to be able to serve alcoholic beverages from the bar. Candidates under the age of 18 will be limited to serve concessions.  All must have night and weekend availability. Runner

This position will be responsible for maintaining the Lake Deck area to ensure it is looking its best to support the AAA Four Diamond brand expectation of The Osthoff Resort. Duties include, but are not limited to, promptly clearing, sanitizing, cleaning, stocking concessions, the kitchen and bar stations and assisting co-workers in offering the best experiences possible to restaurant guests. This position requires the ability to stand and walk for a period of up to 8 hours, as well as the ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.

 

Beach Concierge

The Beach Concierge will monitor the beach making sure it is only used by guests of The Osthoff Resort.  It is also his/her job to ensure all areas pertaining to the beach are well-kept and performing additional duties, as assigned. Must have the ability to stand and walk for a period of up to 8 hours, as well as the ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator will be assisting the Marketing Manager, Marketing Director and applicable organizational staff related to entertainment, events, and promotional Marketing initiatives to achieve both the existing and development of new initiatives aligned with company goals. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with a wide range of marketing functions, including communications, advertising, events, branding, digital marketing, and social media.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the company’s strategies for Resort supporting company brands
  • Ensure all Marketing efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term business goals
  • Create and publish content (including graphics) for company website, brochures, press releases, e-blasts, and social media pages
  • Update content management system (CMS) for company website
  • Work with Graphic Designer to update print and distribute on-property signage and literature throughout Resort
  • Prepare Marketing activity reports and metrics for measuring campaign ROI
  • Hands-on event planning. Assists with the promotion, coordination, facilitation, and implementation of special events and activities throughout the year
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the day to day operations of our Resort’s Children and Group Activities Program. This program provides entertainment, education and team-building opportunities for both children and corporate guests
  • Assist in the monitoring and response to Guest reviews across multiple digital channels
  • Identify and execute improvements for processes, content, and lead generation

Restaurant Manager

The Osthoff Resort is seeking an experienced, detail-orientated individual to join our team as the Otto’s Restaurant Manager. Otto’s Restaurant is casual family dining, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, 7 days a week and offers a traditional Friday evening fish fry.  Otto’s encompasses many front of house areas including the restaurant, bar, lakeview dining, room service, amenities, patio dining and poolside service. Responsibilities include:

  • Selecting, scheduling, training, and managing staff for the efficient operation of the outlet
  • Developing and implementing short-term and long-term financial and operational plans for the outlet which support the overall objectives of the department and company
  • Forecasting, implementing, monitoring and controlling the outlet budget and its components (labor costs, beverage costs, supplies, equipment, etc.) to maximize revenue and minimize expenses, while ensuring adequate supplies and staff are on hand to provide top quality customer service
  • Assisting staff on the day-to-day operations of the Restaurant and the servicing of our guests
  • Responding to customer trends, needs, issues, comments and problems by establishing a floor presence with guests, touching tables to ensure a quality experience and to enhance the dining experience of our guests.

To be considered for this position, the candidate must have four of hospitality experience and two years of proven managerial skills and experience in a casual dining restaurant with the service of food and various alcoholic beverages.

Candidate must be organized, detail orientated, effective in providing exceptional customer service, and must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel/Word/Outlook) and POS systems. Qualified candidates must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, be able to obtain a license to serve alcohol, and be able to work a flexible schedule year-round, including daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

Job Status: Full-Time. Includes eligibility for our complete benefit package, as well as resort-wide discounts.

 

Sous Chef - Full-Time

This position reports directly to the Director of Culinary and will be responsible for managing the daily culinary operations of Otto's Restaurant. This position will supervise and support the kitchen operation and production, mentor kitchen staff, oversee staff scheduling, and have a hands on involvement with preparation and execution of each menu item, inventory control, food/labor cost, and kitchen sanitation.

Qualified candidates must have at least four years of experience working within a high volume kitchen, and a current Serve Safe certification. A culinary degree would be preferred, but not required with a comparable work experience. Candidate must be highly organized, an effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service, a strong leader, and must have a flexible schedule including availability during mornings, afternoons, and evenings, Monday through Sundays.

The Otto’s Sous Chef position is a full-time position, which includes eligibility for our complete benefit package, as well as resort-wide usage benefits.

 

Restaurant Server - Part Time

Our Servers are responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction and providing our guests with an exceptional dining experience.  Qualified applicants will have previous experience working in a dining atmosphere, have excellent communication skills, and be able to demonstrate above average guest service etiquette.  This is a part-time position working all shifts including days, evening and weekend hours.  Ideal candidates must be at least 18 years of age, and have year-round and weekend availability.

 

Room Service Attendant

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, and exceptional customer service skills.   Daily duties include taking food and beverage orders from the guest, delivering food and beverages in a timely matter, Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant and resort functions and services. Collect accurate room service information: willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise. This position requires the ability to stand and walk for a period of up to 8 hours, as well as the ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.

 

Host/Hostess

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, and exceptional customer service skills.  The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting customers in a friendly manner and escorting guests to tables as well as monitoring guest needs.  Qualified candidates must have the ability to work primarily weekday hours, a strong customer service orientation and the ability to multi-task.

               

Busser

Busser responsible for maintaining the dining area; clearing and resetting tables and taking dishes to the kitchen area. The restaurant Busser stocks bus stations, cleans glassware, and refills drinks. This position requires the ability to stand and walk for a period of up to 8 hours, as well as the ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.

 

Line Cook - Part Time

Our Line Cooks are responsible for preparing a’la carte menu items, setting up cooking lines, stocking and organizing work stations, and maintaining a smooth flow of service during high-volume dining times.

Qualified candidates must have two years of prior line experience working in a casual dining establishment, and one year preparing breakfast and lunch items in a high-volume kitchen. A culinary degree and ServSafe certification are preferred, but not required. Strong communication and organizational skills are also strongly desired.  This is a part-time position covering primarily weekday and weekend days and afternoons.

 

Bartender - Part Time

Our Bartenders are responsible for providing excellent beverage service to our guests while fostering a relaxing atmosphere.  In addition our bartenders are responsible for to-go orders.  Qualified candidates for this position should have prior bartending experience and excellent knowledge of wines and wine service, beer and mixed drinks.  Applicants should also have exceptional customer-service skills and an outgoing personality.  This is a part-time position which offers a flexible morning, evening and weekend schedules.  Applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to obtain a license to serve alcohol.

Water Sports Crew - Part Time, Seasonal

Our water sports department is a dynamic location that offers kayaking, paddle-boarding, paddle boating, pontoon cruises, hydro-bikes, bicycle rentals, and additional activities for both resort guests and the public. We are looking for several people with engaging and professional personalities, who enjoy facilitating experiences to join our team!

The position includes assisting both resort guests and the public with the rental and operation of our equipment, as well as monitoring their safety while in use. Opportunities to drive pontoon boats for guests/groups may be presented to qualified candidates. This is a part-time, fun, outdoor-in-the-sun job!

  • Greet guests in a welcoming, courteous manner
  • Interact with guests by answering phones, responding to questions and making reservations through CRM software
  • Process payment transactions via cash and charge
  • Explaining clearly how to use all rentals
  • Launch and retrieve watercraft and bicycle rentals
  • Sanitize all equipment throughout shift and keep in proper place

Note: Candidates must be 18 years or older and have flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, etc...

Landscape Technician

This position is a full-time year-round role that maintains the maintenance of our resort’s grounds, parking lots and gardens. Qualified candidates must have experience including, but not limited to: hard surface maintenance, mowing, planting, watering, pruning, weeding, pesticide applications, turf irrigation, holiday lighting and décor’, hardscape installation, and snow removal.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have a broad knowledge of grounds, turf, and plant care with at least two years landscape experience or related education. Commercial Pesticide Applicator Category 003.0 Turf & Landscape Certification is a plus or must be obtained within first year of employment.  Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate all grounds machinery. The ability to perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on landscape equipment is highly recommended. The ideal candidate should have the availability to work weekends/holidays throughout the year and be on-call for snow removal during winter months.

 

Landscape Worker 

The Landscape Worker is responsible for the completion of daily landscape maintenance activities throughout the resort. Qualified candidates must be willing to learn or have experience using the various types of lawn and turf equipment for landscape, be able to perform turf maintenance including mowing, planting, watering, pruning, weeding, and mulching, and other tasks as assigned like holiday lighting, removal of trash, and snow removal .

Applicants must have excellent communication skills, be able to work well with others, and ability to lift 50+ pounds and kneel, bend, stand, and shovel on a frequent basis. This candidate must be able to take and give direction, and work independently. The ideal candidate should have the availability to work weekends/holidays throughout the year and be on-call for snow removal during winter months. This a part-time year-round position with the ability to work up to 32 hours/week. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.

 

2nd Shift Maintenance Technician I - Full Time

The Maintenance Technician I will be responsible for maintenance of guest rooms and building areas, painting, and repair of the equipment used in daily operations of the Resort. Candidates should have work experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry skills as they relate to building maintenance and repair. Qualified candidates should have a clean driving record, be at least 18 years old, have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently as well as with others in addition to having a professional demeanor. This full-time position is scheduled primarily for second shift working from 2pm-10:30pm and every other weekend in rotation.
