Jazz at the Lake
Welcome to Jazz at the Lake!
Jazz at the Lake is a two-night live music event centered around the appreciation for jazz. The intimate inside event space offers the unique chance to experience up-close and dynamic performances by world-renowned jazz musicians: Nick Colionne, Eric Darius, Jackiem Joyner and Stanley Jordan. The only artist in history to score five #1 singles on the Billboard Smooth Jazz National Airplay and Smooth Jazz Songs charts from a single album (The Journey), Nick Colionne performs over 75 shows per year! Nick mixes jazz, R&B, funk blues and soulful vocals every time out. A lifetime Chicagoan, Nick has always tried to be innovative and in his words, “create his own vibe”. This guitarist has received numerous awards throughout his career, including the 2007 International Instrumental Artist of the Year and Artist of the Year at the 2011 Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival. He was also named Performer of the Year for Jazz Trax in both 2010 and 2011!
As a saxophonist, composer, producer and vocalist, Eric's career exploded when he came on the scene at the age of 17. With a #1 hit single and seven top 10 radio hits on Nielsen’s R&R/Billboard Contemporary Jazz Charts, his career continues to rise to the top! Darius has shared the stage with numerous Grammy Award winners such as Prince, Carlos Santana, Mary J. Blige, Wynton Marsalis and George Benson just to name a few. This is an artist that fearlessly pushes all musical boundaries and is one of the most exciting musicians to hit the Contemporary Jazz scene in the last decade!
A contemporary saxophonist, author and record producer, Jackiem Joyner will be releasing his 7th album this fall! Having spent 12 years as a recording artist, Jackiem can lay claim to two #1 hits, five top 10 Billboard singles and a chart topping debut album. He has toured in over 30 countries and is bringing his electrifying style to venues throughout the United States and right here to Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin at The Osthoff Resort.
A guitar virtuoso, Stanley Jordan’s career took flight in 1985 when he received both commercial and critical acclaim. His unique skill (known as the Touch Technique) allows him to play two guitars, simultaneously, or even play a guitar and piano at the same time! He has performed in over 60 countries on 6 continents. Musically flexible, Jordan even collaborated with Country star Kenny Rogers on the track “Morning Desire,” which became America’s #1 country song in 1986 and has also been asked to jam with the likes of The Dave Mathew’s Band.
Milwaukee-based professional piano player and singer, Marcell Guyton, has a diverse music catalog and strong work ethic that comes from over 30 years in the business, traveling throughout the country and the world. In addition to his solo show, he is also the founder and band leader for a popular local band called The Rhythm Kings. Whether performing his solo act or with a local band, his genre of music spans a wide variety from Johnny Cash to Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson to Billy Joel and everything in between. So if you're looking for a guaranteed night of dancing and singing, join him at Concourse Restaurant both Friday and Saturday evening following the last event performance.
Is this event the same as Jazz on the Vine?
It’s not Jazz on the Vine, but if you close your eyes, listen, take a deep breath, and imagine, you might be able to transport yourself there for a few moments. Jazz at the Lake is a unique experience that celebrates just the same things - music and culture that is Jazz, and done so uniquely in a charming and intimate setting, inside the beautiful Grand Libelle Balloom at The Osthoff Resort. With vaccines now steadily being offered, and receiving feedback from our guests that they're interested in attending events again, we decided to still offer a jazz event to our valued guests, but on a smaller level, with a maximum of 300 tickets to be sold. There will not be a Meet & Greet to limit exposure and wine tastings will not be served.
What food/beverage options will I have?
Concourse Restaurant & Lounge is our newly-renovated on-site restaurant, previously known as Lola's on the Lake. Features casual dining in a family-friendly atmosphere with a variety of delicious features throughout the week. Not only can you experience the best lakeside views when dining, but a variety of seating options, including high-top bar tables and patio dining. We recommend making advance dinner reservations prior to the performance. (920) 876-5840
Otto's Restaurant and the Elk Room Coffee & Cocktail Lounge, both located on-site, as well as Room Service, are also options. There will be a cash bar, wine specials, and small plates available for purchase at the event.
Can I purchase a 1-day ticket?
No - tickets include both Friday and Saturday evening performances.
How do I order tickets?
To reserve your overnight accommodations and/or tickets, please call (855) 614-7165. An e-mailed receipt will be sent to you the evening of your purchased date. Online ordering is not available and tickets will not be mailed.
Upon check-in at the front desk of The Osthoff Resort, all attendees will receive a wristband, which will allow your entrance into the event.
Where is the event located?
The Grand Libelle Ballroom, which you will see labeled as "M" in the Conference Center on the Resort Map.
How will seating be arranged?
In a large ballroom that comfortably accommodates up to 1000 people, we are setting up 400 seats, theatre-style in front of the stage, where guests will be able to choose to sit or stand a further distance from others, if desired. All seats are first-come, first-served for up to 300 ticket-holders. Cocktail tables will be set up in the back of the room to enjoy food/beverages.
What Covid-19 precautions will be taken?
Sanitizing stations will be placed in common areas, including elevators, entrances, food/beverage areas and throughout the event space. For all resort-wide precautions, click here. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, we request you alter your reservations to support the safety and well-being of our guests and associates.
Update: Although Wisconsin has lifted the mask mandate, we recommend the wearing of masks continues for our guests. We will monitor the updates from local officials as decisions have been made.
Will there be a Meet & Greet?
To limit exposure, we have decided not to conduct a Meet & Greet with the artists, but after each performance we will be selling their merchandise in the Grand Libelle Foyer, across from the Food/Beverage area. Fortunately, in a room with a limited amount of tickets being sold, every seat in the house is a good one for each performance!
The Osthoff Resort offers spacious one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites
with a choice of either a woodland or lake views.
